For city fans there’s the capital Nassau, with its modern facilities, smart restaurants, great shopping and Casino – or bustling Freeport on Grand Bahama, an island with spectacular underwater caves in the Lucayan National Park. Alternatively there’s Marsh Harbour in the Abacos archipelago, the so-called ‘world capital of sailing’ close to Pelican Cays National Marine Park, with its fabulous reef diving opportunities. Oh, and did we mention the fresh seafood? It’s to die for! Sailing conditions are generally calm in the shelter of the countless islands, with shallow drafts demanding a watchful eye on the depth gauge while you marvel at the natural beauty all around you!
