You don’t have to be fabulously wealthy to enjoy fantastic sailing around the Sardinian coastline. Close to glamorous Porto Cervo is Portisco, a perfect base for exploring the peaceful bays and sandy coves of the Archipelago della Maddalena National Park, before heading north to the French island of Corsica, a mere 12 kilometres away. In the north-west, the area around Alghero has a Catalan flavour, with seafood restaurants to die for! Beaches here are as good as anywhere in Sardinia – which is really saying something. And if you absolutely must get away from it all, head for the island’s south-west corner, where the simple pleasure of ‘messing about in boats’ is half a world away from the glitzy Costa Smerelda – but every bit as rewarding!

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.
Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
