Roberto Cavalli's yacht hosts Cannes Film Festival parties

The yacht of extravagant designer Roberto Cavalli has been the home to many parties at the Cannes Film Festival.

Italian designer Cavalli, who is famous for his Mediterranean-style exhibitionism, has had Mariah Carey, Eva Herzigova and David Furnish on the yacht to party in recent days.

Mr Herzigova highlighted the benefits of taking a yacht to the film festival, telling Women's Wear Daily it is the only place she can relax.

"You don't go on the beach, just the boats. You can't sunbathe on the beach in your bikini, you have to hide," she said.

Herzigova took part in a photo-shoot on the yacht inspired by old Hollywood movie stars Grace Kelly and Sophia Loren.

Eva also commented on the excitement of the film festival, saying the combination of "amazing glamour and amazing movies" makes Cannes a "very appealing" destination.

Mariah Carey, who was reported to have had dinner on the yacht, is currently in the city to promote her latest movie where she plays a downtrodden social worker.
