Living on yacht to avoid 'corporateocracy'

Living on yacht to avoid 'corporateocracy'A New Zealand man has taken to the waves permanently in an effort to avoid what he calls 'corporateocracy'.

Sam Mitchell, a sea-kayak guide from the Nelson region of the country, began living in his vessel in September 2008 and believes that it is "real living," reports the Nelson Mail.

On top of his yacht he flies a Jolly Roger, but he says he has no intention of turning his hand to piracy.

"I'm not a criminal or a thief. I found the flag last summer when I was working at the Awaroa Lodge.

"I'm worried it might be construed as me belonging to the Mongrel Mob, when really I'm hoping it's more like the Jolly Roger," he told the newspaper.

He was speaking after experiencing adverse weather conditions on Tuesday night (August 25th), which were the worst he has so far endured.

"The boat was rocking and rolling so much I could hardly stand up," he added.

Yacht Testimonials
"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.

Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
