Luxury yacht smuggling case in Russia

Nine people have been arrested in Russia over allegations of yacht smuggling, it has been revealed.Ivestigators are said to have noted (September 2nd) that an organized crime group consisting of several high levels managers were involved in maritime crime.
Among the names was Andrei Lomakin - the general director of Aston Martin Moscow- who was arrested outside the RIA Novosti news agency in Moscow, according to RIA Novosti.
Managers from the Burevestnik yacht club are also said to be part of the investigation.
No official word on suspects has been released by the Investigative Committee.
The boats have been smuggled out of Britain and Italy since 1997, the news agency reports.
In related news, those chartering a yacht next April may want to head to Russia to take in the delights of the Moscow Boat and Yacht Show which is now in its 15th year.
It is the largest show of its kind in Russia and the 2009 event attracted exhibitors from 26 countries and almost 18,000 visitors.
