The ten crews set to compete in this year's Clipper Round-the-World Yacht Race are arriving in Grimsby for a weekend of joviality ahead of their voyage. The Hull & Humber will likely be the star attraction for local yacht fans as it carries the region's hopes with it in the race.
Michael Rouse, part of the crew, spoke to thisisgrimsby.co.uk after arriving into the port last night.
"It was an emotional moment, really. I was not expecting this many people here to see us on a late, cool evening.
"It brings a lump to you throat to see people cheering like that."
The vessels and the crews that are set to compete in the grueling yacht challenge will be at Grimsby docks this weekend and fans will get a chance to look at the boats before they embark on their journey.
The race proper begins on September 13th from the Humber and will take almost a year for the crews to complete the 35,000 mile course.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.
Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
