O'Leary beats father to yacht winNicholas O'Leary has once again beaten his father Anthony to the Helmsman's Silver Salver trophy at the Irish Sailing Association All-Ireland Sailing Championships.

The Cork yacht racing event saw a tightly-contested competition, which had to be extended due to inhospitable weather conditions.

Despite taking the win, Nicholas explained he wasn't sure whether he had taken the trophy until he compared times with his father.

He explained that O'Leary senior was always going to be his toughest competition.

"It was a relief after the last race as the conditions were so tricky," he told the Irish Times. "There were just points in the difference between first and fourth places - pretty tight."

The event began on Friday (September 25th) and concluded yesterday (September 27th).

Anthony O'Leary sailed into second place, with third and fourth being taken by Ben Duncan and John Driscoll respectively.

Meanwhile, three yachts are reportedly battling it out for the lead in race two of the Clipper Round the World Race.

Yacht Testimonials
"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.

Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
