Three Peaks yacht race won by EADS innovationThe 2009 PowerBar Three Peaks Yacht race has been won by the EADS Innovation Works team with a time of four days, 14 hours and 30 minutes.

The 32nd annual competition came to a close on Saturday after 32 teams had battled it out through 389 miles of sailing, 72 miles running and 18 miles of cycling as well as ascending the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales.

Having finished the gruelling competition on Thursday morning, one of the runners from the EADS team, Martin Beale, said: "We knew we couldn't win the King of the Mountains title so decided to put all our energy into trying to win the race outright."

Owner and skipper of the triumphant vessel, Geoff West, said: "It is as great a test of seamanship and sailing skills as you can find. It's a unique and classic event in the sailing calendar."

The monohull yachts which take place in the race can only use their engines when close to ports.

Yacht Testimonials
"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.

Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
