Young sailors introduced to joys of yachts
Oct 6th, 2009
Some of the next generation of sailors were recently given free lessons in Dover Water Sports Centre.Although their experience may have differed somewhat from those who charter luxury yachts around the Caribbean, the 44 kids reportedly enjoyed themselves.
According to the Royal Yacht Association, the event - which took place on September 26th - was fortunate enough to benefit from warm, sunny weather and a light breeze.
The youngsters were taught how to rig and launch a sailing boat, as well as how to sail upwind and downwind.
Dover Water Sports Centre manager Stuart Bishop predicted the event will be even event bigger in 2010.
"This OnBoard Festival will be a great trigger in keeping these kids sailing, and inspire them to develop their skills in this fantastic sport," he commented.
Brits looking to charter a luxury yacht for a special holiday or business trip may consider the French Riviera, Caribbean Sea or the eastern Mediterranean as destinations.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.
Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
