Watson round the world attempt back on
Oct 6th, 2009
An Australian woman hoping to become the youngest person in the world to circumnavigate the globe single-handedly in a yacht looks set to begin her journey at last. The voyage was called into question after 16-year-old Jessica Watson's vessel crashed into a cargo ship on the first night of a trial run to Sydney last month.
Ella's Pink Lady sustained damage and has been undergoing repairs ever since.
However, Ms Watson and her now well-known boat have arrived in Middle Harbour and are set to begin their historic trip imminently.
The young sailor may be forgiven for being in a rush to depart, after it emerged 15-year-old Abby Sunderland - whose older brother Zac recently circumnavigated the globe - is aiming to embark on a similar journey.
Furthermore, a 13-year-old in Holland is hoping to perform a round the world trip with stopovers at ports, although is facing delays due to a court case over whether she should be allowed to attempt it.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.
Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
