Dominican investment 'set to make it Caribbean's coolest location'
Oct 12th, 2009
Investment in the Dominican Republic could see it become the Caribbean destination of choice for Brits in the coming year, it has been suggested.According to the Guardian, the island is tipped to become the coolest place in the archipelago in 2010, thanks to the new hotel and resort developments, as well as a number of new flight routes from the UK.
British Airways is to run a five-times-a-week service from later this month and Dominican Republic Tourist Board spokesperson Esther Smith explained this will make a big difference to the industry.
"New scheduled flights mean that more upmarket operators are adding us to their programmes, along with some of the new five-star resorts and hotels," she said.
Those wishing to experience the island for themselves while avoiding the crowds may wish to charter a luxury yacht.
The eight-berth Magpie II sails out of St Vincent and could be a great choice for exploring the islands of the Caribbean.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.
Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
