St Kitts tourism 'set to boom in 2010'St Kitts is on the right track for an influx of UK tourists, it has been suggested.

The small Caribbean island is set to enjoy a strong year in 2010 thanks to British Airways announcing an increased number of flights to the destination, TravelMole reported.

Winter yacht charter customers may be able to get there ahead of the crowds, as the flights increase does not take place until March.

Speaking to the online resource, St Kitts tourism authority chief executive officer Rosecita Jeffers explained the island is determined to keep its Caribbean culture for visitors to experience.

"[This involves] making sure that new builds are environmentally-friendly, that we preserve our history … that our food and drink is, where possible, sourced locally and that our citizens are offered the right education and training to pursue careers in hospitality and tourism," she said.

The island is set to host the ICC 2010 T20 Women's Cricket World Cup next year, which will feature the English ladies' team.

Brits chartering a luxury yacht in the Caribbean may consider the Argonauta-V.

The 62-ft sailboat from Sunreef Yachts has two double and two twin cabins, capable of sleeping up to eight guests.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.

Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
