Caribbean to host yacht raceThose chartering a luxury yacht in the Caribbean this February may get the chance to see a prestigious race.

The Royal Ocean Racing Club Caribbean 600 begins in Antigua on February 22nd, with boats racing 605 miles around the archipelago.

A number of renowned yachts are set to take part, including the current race record holder ICAP Leopard.

The vessel will be rushed out to Antigua after competing at an event in its native Australia, with captain Chris Sherlock explaining there will not be much time to carry out preparations between contests.

"We are determined to make the Caribbean race because the beautiful trade wind conditions, blue sea, blue sky and guaranteed wind are the perfect conditions for a boat like Leopard," he revealed.

Race co-founder John Burnie said it could become a showcase for the islands of the Caribbean, with the world's media focussing on the event in February.

The current race record stands at 44 hours 5 minutes 14 seconds, which was set by ICAP Leopard earlier this year.

Yacht Testimonials
"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.

Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
