Scarborough lifeboat rescues yachtA lifeboat based at Scarborough went to the rescue of a yacht last night (June 26th), a local media outlet has revealed.

The lifeboat was launched at about 6pm last night, the Scarborough Evening News reported.

According to the newspaper, it went to help a yacht which was in trouble approximately two miles out to sea.

The yacht is said to have 'run into difficulties' after encountering problems with its engine.

However, the lifeboat was able to save the day and went and rescued the yacht, towing it safely into the town's harbour a couple of hours after heading out on its mission.

Named the Fanny Victoria Wilkinson and Frank Stubbs, it is an all-weather lifeboat, the newspaper noted.

Scarborough is a popular UK holiday destination thanks to its beautiful coastline.

Located in north Yorkshire, the town is the largest holiday resort on the Yorkshire coast and has many attractions, including the ruins of Scarborough Castle.ADNFCR-2431-ID-19239045-ADNFCR

Yacht Testimonials
"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.

Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
