Caribbean 1,500 Rally begins today

Fans of sailing may be interested to hear that the Caribbean 1,500 Rally began today (November 2nd).Now in its 20th year, the Cruising Rally Association's premiere event is the longest-running of its kind in the Americas.
More than 1,000 vessels have taken part over the years, clocking up more than two million miles at sea.
Taking between six and 13 days to complete, the event welcomes a range of boats from around the world, with couples and families regularly taking part, as well as serious racers.
Catamarans, monohulls, full-keeled cruisers and racing sleds are all welcome in the rally.
Those who would rather spend a leisurely week aboard a luxury charter yacht could choose the 72-ft Cookielicious from Oyster Marine.
The vessel sleeps up to six adults and two children and benefits from a stylish and comfortable interior.
Its captain and chef are there to make sure guests enjoy a safe and fulfilling voyage, no matter what islands they decide to explore.
