Nov 5th, 2009
A meeting of almost 1,000 tourism industry specialists has taken place in St Lucia, with delegates discussing how best to increase the number of cruise visitors to the Caribbean. The 16th annual Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Conference & Trade Show was attended by a number of dignitaries, including Colombian president Alvaro Uribe Velez.
FCCA president Michele Paige said the industry had to work together to ensure it came through the economic downturn successfully.
Around 100 cruise executives from the association's 15 member lines attended the conference, which also featured a number of workshops and speakers.
Those wishing to explore the Caribbean in a unique way could charter a private luxury yacht and crew to help them create their own adventure.
Crewed vessels like the 57-ft sailing yacht Amanzi could be ideal for a voyage around the archipelago.
The boat comes with a captain and private chef to keep up to five guests on-track and well fed during their trip.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.
Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
