Clipper yacht race begins recruitment for 2011Despite the fact that the ten boats racing in the Clipper Round-the-World Yacht Race are still at sea battling it out to reach South Africa, recruitment has begun for the next event.

The competition sees ten identical yachts sponsored by cities from all over the globe race around the earth, crewed mainly by sailors with little or no experience.

The amateurs can either take part in individual legs or go the whole hog and commit to the entire 40,000-mile adventure.

Organisers promise a challenging experience, with high waves, searing heat and freezing cold at different parts of the race.

The next event will take place in 2011 and 2012 and will see crews head in an easterly direction around the world, taking full advantage of trade winds.

New stops in New Zealand and the east coast of Australia will add a new dimension to the race, with other destinations including Singapore and Qingdao.

This year's competitors are currently on the second major leg of the event, which sees them travel from Brazil to South Africa, with Australia the next stop after that.

Yacht Testimonials
"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.

Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
