Jul 3rd, 2009
British powerboat star Shelley Jory is set to race this weekend (Friday July 3rd to Sunday July 5th 5th) in the Italian Grand Prix of the sea.The Powerboat P1 World Championship heads to Italy this week to the San Benedetto del Tronto, where Ms Jory and her navigator, Audrien Ciantar of Malta, will attempt to recreate the blistering form that they showed in Turkey two weeks ago.
At the Turkey Grand Prix, the British pilot was part of the first all female team to win a Supersport Grand Prix title and now the duo are looking for more success.
After her previous victory, Ms Jory said: "To be the first all-lady team in any sport is pretty special but to make history is a completely different sensation. Its wonderful to prove that we can actually go out there and regularly compete with the boys."
The Powerboat P1 World Championships is now in its seventh season and features high speed racing in twin-engined vessels which measure up to 13 metres in length and produce up to 1,800hp.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.
Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
