Australian yacht race set for launchThe Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race 2009 will begin in earnest next week when more than 100 vessels will leave Sydney's Rushcutters Bay.

The event will be launched on Tuesday November 24th and is expected to feature 116 yachts from Australia and around the word.

As well as the UK, US and New Zealand, sailors from Spain, The Netherlands and New Caledonia will also take part.

Cruising Yacht Club Australia commodore Matt Allen will join Wild Oats XI skipper Mark Richards and numerous other personalities in launching the event.

Wild Oats XI will be aiming for a record-breaking fifth win in a row, while the event will also see five ten-ft maxis taking part - the first time they have been allowed to do so.

Meanwhile, Australia is the next port of call for the ten amateur crews taking part in the Clipper Round-the-World Yacht Race.

So far, the boats have sailed from the UK to France, before heading onwards to South Africa, via Brazil.

Yacht Testimonials
"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.

Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
