Wayne Rooney has mishap on luxury yacht Manchester United and England football star Wayne Rooney has had a little mishap while enjoying his summer break on a luxury yacht.
Mr Rooney is said to have torn his ear lobe while messing around with friends aboard the £150,000-a-week yacht that he has chartered off the coast of St Tropez in the French Riviera.
A yacht charter broker, Maureen McManus, told the Mirror that the crew of the vessel would have been fully trained to deal with the situation medically.
She said: "The crew would have rushed him to shore in a tender and ensured he was taken to hospital as soon as possible. He would have been in very safe hands.
"Yacht guests are always advised to walk slowly and carefully on deck, and not lark about - even if they are paying £150,000 a week."
The sporting ace has been seen taking part in a range of watersports recently, including Jet Skiing, as he enjoys his summer off with pregnant wife Coleen.
Rooney is now said to be back aboard the yacht and continuing with his holiday.
"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.
