Luxury yacht charter destination considers cutting royal tiesThe Caribbean nation of St Vincent and the Grenadines is set to decide whether to keep Queen Elizabeth II as its monarch.

Popular with luxury yacht charter customers, the islands' inhabitants will vote on whether to maintain their royal ties with the UK's monarchy, the Associated Press revealed.

If the decision is taken to remove the queen as head of state, a president would be nominated by the Unity Labour Party and the opposition New Democratic Party.

However, a two-thirds majority is required to adopt a new constitution for the first time since the nation gained independence three decades ago.

As well as a new head of state, St Vincent and the Grenadines would install its own court of appeals, which would take the place of Britain's Privy Council.

Luxury yacht charter customers in the Caribbean may be able to spot the queen this week, as the monarch is due to visit a summit in Trinidad and Tobago.

Meanwhile, the Press Association also reported that Caribbean leaders are to challenge Gordon Brown on the Air Passenger Duty increases his government has created.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.

Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
