Readers of the US publication Mercury News have been told of the joys offered by the Caribbean. The newspaper explored the wonders offered by the region, focusing on how cruises can help holidaymakers see multiple islands.
Another way to visit a number of destinations is to embark on a luxury private yacht charter and head to the tropical location of your choice.
The archipelago offers an array of experiences that are rare in other parts of the world, with the Mercury News revealing how intrepid holidaymakers can swim in the sea near Grand Cayman with stingrays.
While many luxury charter yachts come with their own chef, passengers could also take a cookery class in Cozumel, where they can learn to cook a variety of Caribbean dishes.
Another experience not to be missed is snorkelling in the Bahamas, where the Tingun Reef offers "plenty of cowfish, parrot fish and tangs, along with brain coral".
In other news, Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty and new husband Raj Kundra are currently honeymooning in the Bahamas.
