Luxury yacht charter destination striving to attract visitors

A destination popular among luxury yacht charter customers is hoping to bring back the tourists in their droves after a difficult year for the industry.According to USA Today, the Caribbean island of St Thomas is seeking to attract visitors by offering special deals in order to reinvigorate the industry and drive more people to its tropical beaches.
Travel Weekly Caribbean editor Gay Myers told the newspaper that this winter will be a gamble for many tourist organisations in the tropical archipelago.
She explained that last year was a difficult time for the Caribbean, with only Cuba, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic posting positive results.
Traditionally a popular location with those who like to charter a private luxury yacht, the Caribbean is also a favourite wedding and honeymoon destination.
Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, whom Brits might recognise from Celebrity Big Brother, was recently spotted honeymooning in the Bahamas with new husband Raj Kundra.
