Luxury yacht charter destination hosts CHOGM

The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) has taken place in favourite luxury yacht charter destination Trinidad and Tobago.Port of Spain on the Caribbean island nation was the host city for the 2009 summit, which took place from November 27th to 29th.
Attended by Queen Elizabeth II, the conference was designed to allow heads of state to come together and discus important political, economic and social issues from around the world.
The meeting is also used to plan strategies to deal with major topics affecting member nations and to reinforce relations between Commonwealth countries.
The informal retreat in the tropical archipelago provided the ideal setting to reach a consensus on climate change.
One of the topics of discussion was the upcoming global warming summit in Copenhagen, Denmark, when world leaders will attempt to reach an agreement on reducing carbon emissions to replace the Kyoto Treaty.
The United Nations Climate Change Conference takes place from December 7th to 18th.
