Caribbean cruiser given seven celebrity godmothers

Caribbean cruiser given seven celebrity godmothersThe largest cruise ship ever to sail the luxury yacht charter-friendly waters of the Caribbean was officially christened yesterday (December 1st).

Royal Caribbean International named its mega-liner Oasis of the Seas, with the vessel being given the honour of having seven celebrity godmothers.

It is a tradition that cruise liners are given a send-off by one such female, but the floating hotel can now count Gloria Estefan, Daisy Fuentes, Shawn Johnson, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Michelle Kwan, Jane Seymour and Dara Torres among its well-wishers.

The ship has seven "signature neighbourhoods" and therefore was given a celebrity godmother for each, its owners revealed.

The naming ceremony took place in Florida, with the traditional champagne-breaking routine followed by a fireworks display.

Brits who would rather avoid the mass-tourism nature of such a vessel and enjoy a more exclusive sail around the Caribbean could do so aboard Sea Force One - a luxury super yacht available to charter customers.

Yacht Testimonials
"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.

Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
