Australian yacht looking keen to get home
Dec 3rd, 2009
Luxury yacht charter fans following the exploits of the amateur crews taking part in the Clipper Round-the-World Yacht Race may be interested to know that Spirit of Australia has taken maximum points at the Leg Three scoring gate. The vessels are en route to Australia, so it is perhaps fitting that the ship pipped Team Finland to the post yesterday (December 2nd) at 17:42 GMT.
"Three points, you little ripper," was the exclamation from the yacht's skipper Brendan Hall.
He explained that passing the gate was "nail-biting" but said the crew were glad to have beaten their Finnish rivals to it by more than an hour.
Meanwhile, British yacht Hull & Humber and its Irish counterpart Cork have both finally set sail again after colliding at the start line of the third leg in Cape Town.
Both vessels had to undergo days of repair, with Cork managing to sail off first and looking like making a good job of catching up the rest of the fleet, according to the satellite tracking of the yachts.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.
Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
