Scotland will have representation at this year's Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, which gets underway this month.Team Edinburgh Inspiring Capital, which is being co-sponsored by Uniquely Singapore, Qingdao and Hull & Humber, will be among the field of identical 68-footers when the race begins on September 13th.
The race launches from the Humber in the north-east of England and takes the crews on a 35,000 mile course which will take almost a full year to complete.
One of the Edinburgh crew members, Julia Taylor, said: "For years I have watched with envy people who have taken part in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race and I'm so excited to be taking part myself in the Clipper 2009-2010 Race.
"To know that I will also be a member of the Edinburgh crew that will represent the Scottish capital around the world is a dream come true."
The Clipper Round the World Yacht race was founded by Sir Robin Knox-Johnston who was the first man to sail solo, non-stop around the world.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.
Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
