Yacht charter show to face uncertain future
Dec 9th, 2009
A prominent Caribbean yacht charter event has parted company with its owner and faces an uncertain future, it has been revealed. The Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association (MYBA) will cease running the St Maarten Charter Yacht Show next year, the Daily Herald reported.
The news was confirmed by St Maarten Marine Trades Association president Jeff Boyd on Monday (December 7th), who said discussions to terminate the contract have been ongoing for some time.
It is thought that the 2010 show will be in either Antigua or St Maarten in The Netherlands Antilles.
"It was a smaller show this year than what we expected, but a high quality one," explained MYBA chairperson Fiona Maureso, adding that the organisation will be present at next year's event as a charter broker.
"We hope MYBA has left a legacy that can be taken into the future. There's still a lot of potential for the show."
The Netherlands Antilles are a group of islands located just off the north coast of Mexico.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.
Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
