The Caribbean island of St Kitts is a popular destination among luxury yacht charter customers and is set to host an important meeting in 2011.At the Commonwealth Games Federation General Meeting on the tiny tropical island, officials will decide which nation will host the 2018 event.
It is the first time that the summit has been held on St Kitts, despite attempts in 1998 and 2003, the Leewards Times revealed.
St Kitts-Nevis Olympic Committee president Alphonso Bridgewater explained that preparation is already underway for the conference, with the Marriott Hotel expected to be the venue for the representatives of the 71 Commonwealth nations.
Luxury yacht charter customers heading to the island might be interested to know that it has a population of less than 40,000 and measures just 69 sq miles, according to St Kitts Tourism.
Known for its fertile land, St Kitts was once one of the most sought-after Caribbean islands due to its position as a gateway to the rest of the archipelago.

Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
