Yacht charter destination hosts surf contestThose whose luxury private yacht charter took them to Barbados at the end of November may have noticed the island was hosting the 2009 Suzuki Caribbean Pro Surf Tour.

Ending on December 1st, the event was dominated by Jamaican junior pros, according to blackathlete.net.

The three-day contest was held at the renowned Soup Bowl surf beach in Barbados' Bathsheba, with Jamaicans Shane Simmonds, Ackeam Phillips and Eneson Lightbourn taking the top three spots in the Pro Junior category.

Other sections included the Pro Men, Pro Women and Pro Body Board divisions, with each enjoying good surf and tough competition.

The second-place finish for Simmonds was enough for him to scoop the 2009 Suzuki Caribbean Junior Pro Championship, with teammate Philips taking silver in the series.

Barbados' own Lewis St John won the open division and was named 2009 Suzuki Caribbean Open Pro Champion after winning every event in the series.

The island paradise of Barbados is located east of St Vincent and the Grenadines and south-east of St Lucia.

Yacht Testimonials
"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.

Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
