Masirah take second round of Extreme Sailing Series AsiaA thunderstorm could not dampen the spirits of the Oman Sail's Masirah team as they emerged victorious in the second round of the Extreme Sailing Series Asia.

Led by skipper Pete Cumming, the team defeated five others to claim their second consecutive victory, with the Red Bull Extreme Sailing team taking second and The Wave, Muscat finishing third.

However, controversy struck on the fifth and final race of the day as the sailors and VIP guests present on each boat were showered by the heavy downpour.

This caused the race to be cancelled, meaning Masirah claimed top spot due to their superior earlier performances, which netted them 121 points over the 26 races completed during the five days.

Cumming said: "It's been a really good week for the team and we are thrilled with the win.

"We would like to thank the Singapore Authorities for giving us the opportunity to sail here and to everyone who helped to make this event possible."

The team will now be looking to advance their winning streak further when heading back to home waters in Oman in the final event of the series.

Masirah now have 12 points overall from their two victories and are chased in the standings by BT and the China Team, which have seven apieice.

Yacht Testimonials
"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.

Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
