US newspaper praises luxury yacht charter destinationA US newspaper has extolled the virtues of a popular luxury yacht charter destination that many Americans never consider visiting.

USA Today explained that US military action on the Caribbean island of Grenada in 1983 still lives in the memory of the country's public, despite it occurring the best part of three decades ago.

However, honeymooners Amanda Robinson and Tim Schenk recently enjoyed a visit to the tropical archipelago.

They admitted that they did not want to tell too many Americans about the wonders of Grenada as they wanted to keep it their secret.

"It's great if you want to relax or completely unplug, but there's still adventurous things to do," Mr Schenk said.

"We don't want to tell any of our friends about it because it's almost undiscovered."

Grenada has been a popular destination for Brits for many years, although the recession reportedly caused a 14 per cent downturn in non-cruise visitor numbers to the island between January and September this year, compared to the same period in 2008.

Those on a luxury yacht charter break in Grenada could also visit nearby Barbados or St Vincent and the Grenadines.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.

Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
