Caribbean yacht charter destinations offer snuba diving
Dec 21st, 2009
The little-known sport of snuba diving is reportedly becoming popular in luxury yacht charter destinations in the Caribbean.A combination of snorkelling and scuba diving, the activity involves underwater exploration using a 20-ft tube connected to an oxygen tank on a raft.
It is seen as an ideal way to experience the sensation of full scuba diving without being certified, USA Today reported.
First developed in the 1980s, the sport has only caught on in a few locations, including the Caribbean islands of Aruba, Turks and Caicos and Florida.
However, the USA Today reporter who tried it said his experience left him wanting more and determined to take a scuba diving course.
He explained how, after a safety lesson, he and his wife were able to experiment in shallow water, before going on to explore some of the tropical archipelago's coral reef systems.
Aruba can be found to the west of the Netherlands Antilles, north of Venezuela.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.
Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
