Dec 29th, 2009
Simon Cowell was set to visit a number of his celebrity friends and drop off some Christmas presents after foregoing the chill of the festive period in the UK by hiring a yacht in the Caribbean, according to reports. The 50-year-old music mogul has been taking in the sun on board the £625-a-week vessel 'Slipstream' and has called in to a number of luxury yacht charter destinations including Grenada and Antigua.
And among those to receive a visit from Cowell was former girlfriend Sinitta and fellow judge on Britain's Got Talent Amanda Holden.
According to the Daily Mirror: "The Slipstream is the ultimate super yacht. He chose this yacht because of the high spec. It oozes luxury.
"He was about to leave Barbados to sail to Grenada where he was meeting Sinitta and her children to give them their presents. Then he is off to Antigua for cocktails with Amanda Holden and her husband Chris Hughes."
Cowell split the cost of the trip with TopShop boss and friend Sir Phillip Green, with leather sofas, a Jacuzzi and a state-of-the-art gym among its stand-out features.
He established the entertainment company SyCo in 2002, with artists including Westlife, Leona Lewis and Il Divo just some of those currently on the books.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.
Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
