It’s not all plain sailing for Greece…
May 17th, 2010
The overriding news in Athens today is the disastrous state of the Greek economy and the resulting crisis for the Eurozone. The BBC online news service reports today that Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou has announced tough austerity measures aimed at cutting his country's soaring public debt.
"A deficit of such a magnitude must be decisively corrected. Moreover the government debt in Greece is excessively high," European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso told reporters. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/8494849.stm
Of course, tourism of all kinds remains one of the country's best hopes of earning foreign currency to help offset its massive debts, and the good news for Greece is that we're expecting a busy season for Dream Marine with high demand at all budget levels and for all standards of sailors wanting to explore the beautiful Greek Islands.
Our vast range of yachting breaks includes: flotilla sailing holidays to Lefkas (Ionian Islands), Poros (near Athens) and Skiathos (Sporades Islands), bareboat charters in Rhodes and Kos (Dodecanese Islands) or Paros (Cyclades Islands), skippered charters in Lavrion (Greek Mainland) or of course crewed charters on Elite yachts and catamarans throughout the Mediterranean.
Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
