Luxury Yacht Charter New Editions At Southampton Boat Show
Sep 21st, 2010
Sailing holidays in style on the latest yacht designs at the Southampton Yacht Show, debuting the launch of exciting, new crewed and bareboat charter yachts.
The 42nd Southampton Boat Show lifted her anchors on Sunday 19th after 10 days of hosting 14 global boat launches, and 40 UK debuts, from over 530 exhibitors to 122,106 visitors. Attendance figures were up on last year, demonstrating that despite the economic weather, the thirst for sailing and private yacht charter is undiminished.
There were many highlights to choose from, including the ‘All At Sea’ sailing celebrities Nick Hancock and Dawn Porter officially opening the Show on Friday 10 September, Ladies Day on Thursday, which helped raise funds for the Wessex Cancer Trust and the Show achieving it’s aim of getting over 8,000 visitors to ‘Try-A-Boat’.
With 70 extra boats than last year on the marina itself, there were many new designs and enhanced versions of bareboat and skippered sailing yacht charter favourites.
Obvious contenders for attracting lovers of bareboat luxury innovation must go to the 2010 editions of the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 409 (41 ft) and Lagoon 450 Catamaran (46 ft).
The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 409, is a stylish upgrade from the former 39i and nominated as EU Yacht of the Year 2010/11. The Lagoon 450, available in 3 or 4 cabin versions with enlarged interior accommodation, deck space and closer exterior boarding access.
