Monaco Yacht Show Debuts One Hundred Luxury Super Yachts

Monaco Yacht Show draws record international clientele at premier for elite superyacht charter crafts.

 

iHuigh Class the 20th Monaco Luxury Yacht Show opened her harbour doors at Port Hercules on Wednesday 22nd to an expected record number of 28,000 visitors, including many exceptional clients, drawn to the prestigious four day exhibition of over 100 stunning world class, luxury superyachts with an average length of 45m (146ft) and estimated total value of £1.7bn.

 

 

The world’s leading international yacht show featured 500 exhibitors from 37 countries, including top superyacht designers and shipyards from Italy, The Netherlands, France, Germa ny, USA, Turkey and the UK. Key show events were the Prix Du Design Award for innovative yacht design, won by ‘Panthalassa’, a 56m ketch commissioned by London-based design studio, Foster & Partners, and the Green Plus Yacht Award given to the 50m long ‘Exuma’, from the Italian shipyard, Picchiotti, for exceptional environmental performance.

 

Recognised as a prestigious world stage for the annual launch of some of the most outstanding super and mega yachts of innovative, high class design and performance, the 2010 Monaco Yacht show once again, lived up to its reputation.

 

Any selection of highlights from the stunning array of new luxury super and mega yachts showing for the first time would have to include ‘Nero’.  At 295ft long, she is one of the largest ‘classic’ yachts ever to be built. With her distinctive 1920s funnel, the impressive yet more restrained retro styling elegantly sports floor to ceiling wood panelling and fine furnishing. Though out the yacht there is a feel of passion from her owner’s vision.  10 guests can be accommodated across 5 cabins, supported by 20 crew.

 

Amongst the high-end, luxury crewed yacht charter design was found the sharp, fine cut style of the mega yacht at 260ft ‘Princess Mariana’ , 6 cabin, 12 guest craft from Denmark, bristling with amenities such as cinema, gym, spa and disco.  The 203ft  ‘Roma’ offers fabulous Italian style interiors predominated by subtle plays in white and beige, suffused with light from the high windows found in State room, VIP room and Guest room alike. ‘Four-Aces’ accommodates 12 guests in 6 cabins, and at 183ft,  displays an imposing streamlined shaping, and warm coloured interiors.

 

 ‘Salute’ is a magnificent 183ft sailing yacht possessing the world’s largest aluminium rig and caters for up to 12 guests, supported by nine crew, and ideal for a luxury supersail yacht charter. Dreams of a perfect sailing holiday on a Mediterranean yacht charter can come true on ‘Valquest’, a sleek and spacious 133ft sailing yacht hosting up to 8 guests across 4 staterooms with matching saloons furnished in high gloss mahogany and white leather throughout.

 

The Monaco Yacht Show, which runs until Saturday 25th September. was officially sponsored by Swiss Marine Watchmaker, Ulysse Nardin, who created an exclusive edition watch for the event, and the Yacht Show also supports the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation initiative, “Wood Forever”, which campaigns for sustainable-managed forests.
