Sunseeker 40 luxury yacht Launches as Sunseeker Predator 130 comes up for charter

The sleek new Sunseeker 40 performance superyacht was officially launched by TV’s Dragon’s Den celebrity Theo Paphitis, himself an enthusiastic Sunseeker owner, at the 2010 Southampton Boat Show in September.  I simply adore Theo’s cheeky grin – there’s definitely something of the naughty schoolboy about this devilishly debonair Dragon!

Coincidentally, a superb example of Sunseeker’s 2009 Southampton crowd-puller, the Sunseeker Predator 130, launched at last year’s Show by Formula One star and serial Sunseeker owner Eddie Jordan, recently entered the charter market for the first time in the form of superyacht ‘Le Volpi’ - meaning ‘the foxes’, I believe - and she is one foxy lady. Dare I say, it takes one to know one…

“We’re delighted to be able to offer our customers the chance to charter ‘Le Volpi’ – she’s a real beauty, and destined to be very popular at the upper end of the luxury yacht charter market as part of our Elite Crewed Yacht Charter portfolio,” said Chris Yates, Managing Director of UK boat charter specialists, Dream Marine.

Chris was speaking at the Monaco Yacht show, and ‘Le Volpi’ will be based in the South of France for chartering. She was released onto the market at the 33rd Cannes International Boat & Yacht Show, 2010, earlier in September. I simply adore Sunseeker’s apparently effortless combination of the finesse and craftsmanship for which British yachtbuilders are renowned, with a very continental eye for appearances, racy lines, and yes, let’s use the ‘C’ word - chic!

Naturally, I was accompanying Chris around the show – it is the world’s premier superyacht show, after all, and the Riviera to boot!  Other outstanding examples of the boatbuilder’s art to be seen in and around Monaco at showtime were ‘Nero’, a retro-styled, ultra-modern equipped beauty modelled after the classic “Corsair” yachts owned by early twentieth-century financier, J.P.Morgan, and another personal favourite, the spacious ‘Roma’ built in 2009 at the Viareggio Superyachts boatyard.

Yacht Testimonials
"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.

Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
