The 64th Festival de Cannes 2011 launches with the first announcements that veteran actor, Robert De Niro, has been handed the prestigious title chair of President of the Jury, and Woody Allen's latest offering, ‘Midnight in Paris', will officially open the 12 day, celebrity-packed event on May 11th.

Ever since its inception in 1946, each year the prestigious, professional industry awards attracts thousands of film makers, actors, media celebrities, paparazzi and the world's glitterati. Renamed the Palme d'Or in 1955, the palm tree-lined resort is both the home of the best of the previous year's cinema releases and the temporary berth of some of the most stunning and star-studded super yacht and mega yacht vessels to annually grace the exclusive Riviera marinas.

The 2010 Festival drew awe-inspiring examples from the world's giant names in privately owned mega yachts, including the 355ft ‘Lady Moura', owned by Nasser Al-Rashid, the Saudi billionaire businessman and advisor to the royal family, and the ‘Octopus', one of the many luxury yachts owned by Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, which regularly appears at Cannes, and at 126 metres long, boasting swimming pool, two heli pads, movie theatre, two submarines and a music hall, is ranked as the 9th largest yacht in the world!
