John Pink and Rick Peacock have taken a silver medal at the 49er World Championship. The duo fought back from fourth place on Sunday (July 19th) to secure the medal at Riva del Garda in Italy.
The pair, who are part of the Skandia Team GBR, beat the Sibello brothers from Italy into bronze medal position.
Mr Pink said: "After we finished the medal race we thought we were third and were happy enough with that, but then it turned out the Italians were another boat behind where we thought they were, which gave us the silver so that made it even better."
"It had been a pretty tough week and it really paid to be consistent."
Coash of Skandia Team GBR's 49er team Harvey Hillary praised the pair as well as the performance of the whole team, having had four teams in the medal race.
It is the eighth consecutive championship that GBR has placed on the podium.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.
Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
