World's fastest solar-powered boat to attempt round-the-world voyageA vessel which is claimed to be the largest, fastest fully-solar-powered vessel in the world is set to take on a round-the-world voyage, according to a report.

The 30 metre vessel named Planet Solar is currently being built in Kiel, Germany and once finished will attempt to circumnavigate the globe, according to CNN.

Planet Solar has been designed by Swiss engineer Raphael Domjan who is keen to promote green technology.

He told the news provider: "[I] want to show that we can change, that solutions exist and that it's not too late.

"Using technology and our knowledge to better promote renewable energies is the way towards a lasting world."

Another impressive solar yacht was revealed recently in the shape of the Soliloquy green superyacht, which combines a number of green technologies and was designed by a British student.

The Soliloquy features solar, wind and hybrid marine power and has huge solar sails that can pivot to garner the most available power.

Yacht Testimonials
"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.

Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
