Hull and Humber Clipper names skipper
May 19th, 2009
Round the world yacht races can be the most challenging in the sailing calendar. As such, finding the best skipper for a team is pivotal and the Hull and Humber Clipper have just chosen Piers Dudin to head up their boat.
This year's Clipper 09-10 round the world race is set to get underway from the Humber on September 13th and sees nine international yachts sail around the world in a 35,000 mile race.
Speaking to the Hull and East Riding Mail, Mr Dudin said: "I'm looking forward to drumming up a lot of support for the boat and meeting the crew.
"I'm sure they'll be as excited as I am to represent the region of Hull and Humber around the world."
He has recently been working on his own Open 650 Thunder yacht which competes in the Mini Transat Race.
Piers began sailing at the age of six in Germany and founder of the race Sir Robin Knox-Johnston said that he was "confident" in his ability.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.
Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
