Basketball legend Michael Jordon has helped fulfil one young girl's ambitions by allowing her to meet him aboard a ship in the Caribbean. The former pro is chief ambassador for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and was happy to meet 15-year-old Monte'kia Jones, who suffers from chronic lung disease.
The teenager researched the organisation and got in contact without informing her parents, wpbf.com revealed.
As a result, she was invited to meet Jordan, who also starred in semi-animated movie Space Jam, aboard the world's largest cruise ship Oasis of the Seas, which is set to predominantly sail the Caribbean.
"I was like, 'oh my gosh, you're Michael Jordan. Whoa, this is so cool'," Ms Jones told the online resource.
"He seemed like a really calm, down-to-earth person. He didn't seem like a famous person. He just seemed like a person."
Jordan's NBA career began in 1984 and spanned three decades, during which he played more than 1,000 games, mostly for the Chicago Bulls.

"I would recommend Dream Marine to others. Everyone was easygoing and helpful. I didn’t mind who I talked to. It was all good. Shame having to come back to London afterwards.
Come on Chris… when’s the next one?"
